[Airbnb]A story about a stranger lying down in a reserved room without permission and operating a cell phone
I would like to introduce an interesting trouble I encountered at an Airbnb accommodation.
Introduction.
I have recently used Airbnb.
I had an interesting problem with the most recent accommodation I used, so I’ll introduce it here. I’d like to introduce it because I had a trouble with the most recent place I used.
What is Airbnb?
Airbnb, Inc. (airbnb.com) is an American online marketplace company for vacation rentals based in San Francisco.
Airbnb maintains or hosts a marketplace that is accessible to consumers on its website or through an app.
Through the service, users can arrange accommodations and tourist experiences, primarily homestays, and list rental properties.
Airbnb does not own any of the properties listed; instead, it makes a profit by receiving a commission on each booking.
The company was founded in 2008 by Brian Chesky, Nathan Blecharczyk, and Joe Gebbia.
Airbnb was taken from its original name, AirBedandBreakfast.com.
Accommodation SamuraiStay Senzokuike
Booked on Airbnb, but can be booked on other sites.
Capsule hotels are also available, but they are often booked on weekends and the rates are not cheap.

Reservation - Entry
On the day of the reservation, you will be sent instructions on how to enter the room and a request to fill out a personal information registration form via chat, so register.
The entrance is a keypad, enter the number you are guided to and enter the entrance: 。。。。。
The entrance is dirty.
I knew what the entrance was like from the reviews. I put my shoes in the plastic bag I had prepared and went to the 2nd floor where the room was located.
Entering before entering the room
I opened the curtains of the room and was about to put my luggage down when the incident happened.
A strange foreigner is lying on the bed and playing with his cell phone.
He is fiddling with his cell phone as if he is completely relaxed in his room.
I close the curtains and check once again that the room number matches the number on the app (20x).
I open the curtains again, but the person lying on the bed still hasn’t disappeared.
Apparently it is real (I had about 5 drinks before I came).
The other side also looks at me with a look like, “Why are you opening the curtains all of a sudden?” They look at me like, “Why are you opening the door all of a sudden?
I show them the room number I reserved on the app to prove my legitimacy.
Then he checks the app and shows it to me.
10x.
Yes, that’s totally different. I don’t know why I felt so confident and at home.
Anyway…,
“Wrong number?
Your number is 10x.
I tried to persuade him. He said “Sorry” and moved to the first floor. 、、、、
Lord, I’ve warmed it up! Bets!
The warmth does not go away when he leaves.
I’m not a germaphobe, but I’m still resistant, so I turn all the sheets inside out.
I make a complaint to the manager via the app.
Me: A guest of 10x was sleeping in 20x without permission…can you please change the sheets or put him in another room?
Host: Sorry, there are no other rooms available. 、、、、 I’ll give you a discount of 1,200 yen for cleaning, so why don’t you stay in 20x?
Me: Okay, I’ll stay at 20x.
Check-in time is 23:30, and there is no other option as the surrounding area is a quiet residential area.
I should say I’m glad I’m drunk.
You are a staff member here, right?
Walking around the museum.
The reason is that I can’t connect to the Wifi listed on the first floor, so I’m looking for an alternative.
I found the Wifi password posted in the common areas (washbasin, kitchen), corrected in pencil.
As I was connecting to Wifi, I was called from behind “Hey!
I have a question” and he interrupts with “No, No, I’m in 20x. Not staff”.
He seemed to get the message, said “OK, thanks” and disappeared to the 1st floor,
I wonder if he was looking for wifi too…?
There is no changing room in the shower room
Went to the shower room. There is no changing area, so you have to put your clothes on the ground.
The first day I put them on a chair that someone else had apparently brought in from the kitchen area, but on the second day they were removed.
Face & bath towels are from the room (10x he never used).
Misery if you miss the toilet mess!
There are 4 toilets and you can use them anywhere. Washlet toilets.
However, a problem peculiar to male facilities arises.
There are people doing their business standing up (the toilet seat is messed up).
Some people are doing their business standing up (the ground is also messy).
The situation was so dire that I rushed to another restroom.
Fortunately, everything else was fine. However, the trauma remained.
I wiped the ground and the toilet seat with wet wipes I carry and used them.
Socks must not be taken off (maybe).
The curtains in each room are always closed, so there is no brightness like in HP, even in the morning.
You don’t have to look at anything extra, but you can’t fool the interval transmitted to your feet.
When I walked barefoot on the morning of the second day, I felt a lot of catching.
It would be better to leave socks on or have disposable slippers as mentioned in the review.
Thank goodness the security box is large!!!

I always put my valuables in the security box.
I haven’t heard of any particular trouble at this facility, but I don’t want to let my guard down and regret it.
It is good that the 14 inch PC I brought fits just right.
I am afraid to use the hair dryer.
There is a hair dryer in the bathroom sink, but right behind it is the room. I don’t feel like using it late at night or early in the morning.
I wish I could bring it into the shower room to use it, but alas, there is no power supply and no mirror.
No stores open until midnight in the vicinity.
As mentioned above, this is a quiet residential area.
The only store open late at night is Maibasuketto near the station.
It would be better to buy some things beforehand.
The host was quick to respond.
Via chat on the app, but I got a reply within 10 minutes.
It would be best if there is no trouble, but it seems that they are taking good care of us.
Summary
- for those who want to keep accommodation costs low.
- you should bring cleaning supplies (plastic bags, slippers, wet wipes, hooks)
- if you want perfect cleanliness, look elsewhere.
